I recently ordered ViaTalk because I wanted to save some money on my phone bills. I have a few people I know that have been using VoIP for a while, so I decided to give it a try. It has been pretty good so far, especially at only $16.95 a month for Unlimited use. My son is over in Europe at the moment, so I added their World package on as well. It has been a great break on my wallet. I am fairly knew to this, but so far so good.

I have been with ViaTalk for over 2 years at this point, and just recently switched to the Limited Monthly plan based on the amount I use the VoIP phone service at my home. I found that I, as with many people, use my cell phone more and more. However, I like the security of having a home phone, and home phone number. Also, my wife did not want to give our home phone number, and she has the final say in most decisions. Hahahah.
As far as the service goes, it is average. It is not as solid as my old regular phone service was, but that can be expected since you are using your Internet service to deliver the service. When needed, the tech support has been somewhat of an issue. It seems as though they only have limited knowledge, and tend to blame the customer rather than look for alternative fixes. To end on a good note, the control panel is awesome and very easy to use. I love how much control you have over the features of the service. Not to mention the number of features you get for free.

I have been with four different VoIP providers over the past 5 years, with ViaTalk being the latest. It is a little easier for me to switch due to the fact that I am not attached to any number. So far, I would put ViaTalk head and shoulders above the competition as far as features go. But, I would put them lower with regards to the support you receive, and the amount of tech knowledge you may need to avoid long term disruptions. I am also an iPhone user, so it has been nice to use the mobile app with my service. It adds even more control while I am on the road for work.

I recently retired and have been looking to cut expenses. ViaTalk provided a great solution for this and has been good so far. I was paying well over $50 a month for my old phone service, and now I haven't had a phone bill for almost a year. Broken down, I am paying the equivalent of around $8 per month for unlimited phone service. I didn't know the first thing about how VoIP phone service worked before I made the choice to switch to ViaTalk, but really have no complaints. There have been a few issues of downtime, but luckily nothing too long. If you are simply looking to cut costs, give them a try. I hope the service continues to remain solid so I can keep saving this much money. It allows for an extra dinner out with my wife each month.

I am getting ready to leave ViaTalk. It just seems like they continue to make amatuer mistakes. Some of the issues that keep arising should not be occuring with a 6 year old company. And with a company that keeps having these issues, you would think they would hire more knowledgable tech support people than they have. Everytime I call, they go over the same fixes that have clearly not corrected the problem. After doing some research, it seems like they are focusing on new product and other companies rather than fix the issues with ViaTalk's voip service. I am doing some research now, and am looking to find a company that makes the phone service quality a priority and not an after thought. If you are new to VoIP, I would look elsewhere for phone service. The thing that got me try them was the price, but there are now other top voip providers that have competetive, if not better, pricing for a much higher level of service. Just not a great experience, and if you do choose them, I wish you luck.

Everything has been very average with ViaTalk, and nothing great. I am nearing the end of my two year contract, and have begun to shop around. Looking at reviews around the web, I think I am leaning toward VoIPo at this point. The ONE thing I can't complain about is VIaTalk's price. Other than that, the price does not make up for it's shortcomings. I am not the most technical person, but I thought that is what they had tech support for. Not ViaTalk. Apparently they have tech support to blame the user for all the issues. After going back and forth with them for a month over what I thought was a minor issue, I finally got one rep to fix the issue for me. It's too bad because they have a lot of features, and I was excited to try them. The only thing I wish is that I didn't have the two year contract because I would have been gone a lot sooner. I look forward to fixing this situation and setting a new voip service that works like it is suppose to. Be wary of this company if you are new to the technology because it may be more of a hassle than you care to deal with.
